Construction was halted in order to complete the remaining right of way acquisitions and an alternate route design due to the lack of obtaining right of way between School Street and Maple Avenue.  The alternate route will use the new sidewalk along Rawson Road and School Street, to the Trolley Trail and then along Maple Avenue to the trailhead adjacent to Railroad Street.

To view the current and completed construction, see the Construction Status link.

Trolley Trail Improvements
As part of the alternate route determined during 2006 and 2007, the existing Trolley Trail received improvements such as softer slopes up to the railroad crossing and new asphalt overlay along the entire length from School Street to Maple Avenue.

Landscape/Parking Areas

Construction activities for the Brace Road and Break of Day Road parking areas took place as that section of trail was being constructed.

Detailed Landscape/Parking Area drawings are displayed under the Project Details and Trailheads links.

Stamped concrete plazas with benches, informational kiosks, and bike racks were constructed at Maple Avenue and Fisher’s Fire Hall by contracted forces. They also installed the directional signage.

Old Dutch Road includes a 5’ wide shoulder adjacent to the roadway connecting the Lehigh Valley Trail to the entrance of Fishers Park.

Break of Day and East Victor Roads
These roads include a 5’ wide shoulder adjacent to the roadway that provides a continuous route from Brace Road to East Victor Road.

Finger Lakes Railroad constructed an ADA compliant track crossing.
